Painter Evan Wilson. Sunflowers and kimono

Evan Wilson was born in 1953, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL). Interest in art began to show at an early age, thanks to a family friend and a professor of art at the University of Alabama, Richard Brough. In 1971, Wilson enrolled at the prestigious art school in North Carolina (North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem, NC), after graduating from high school he studied at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, MD, where he met the famous artist - realist Joseph Sheppard, mentor throughout his life. In 1978 he won a grant from the Greensheild, to continue to study in Florence. Currently, Evan Wilson lives in Hoosick, New York, a picturesque place in the northern part of the state. His early nineteenth-century houses are often the subject of his paintings. He also regularly visits Alabama, their homeland, for inspiration. The artist's works are included in many public and private collections, including the Greenville County Museum of Art in South Carolina, at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England. Almost thirty works are included in the collection Westervelt Warner Museum of Art.
