He was an outstanding and original artist ... "- these words are often heard about Merab Guramovich Abramishvili. And the artist himself felt that his letter is different from all standards painting. Merab Abramishvili born March 16, 1957, began to draw very early. We can say that all of his childhood - it echoes up childhood dreams on canvas. He studied at the Art School. Jacob Nikoladze (Tbilisi, Georgia), but was Alexander (Alex) Bandzeladze, private studio which became a real school for Merab artistic skill. Merab often recalled the years spent there with great gratitude, Alexander was not only an outstanding teacher, but also a man endowed with many virtues.



In his youth, Merab took part in a scientific expedition organized to study the frescoes of the temple Ateni Sioni Church (Church of the Assumption of the Virgin in the village of Ateni, near the town of Gori in Georgia, built in the VII century). This expedition was led by the father of Merab, Guram Abramishvili, art critic and PhD. Expedition strongly influenced the formation of his personality. "For me, Ateni, as a primary source. The eighties were for Merab years formation as a professional artist. In 1981 he finished the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, and in 1987 he wrote his first important work, "Three hundred aragvian." In order to achieve artistic expression he uses gesso technique (from the Greek. Leukós - white) - the ancient art of fresco.
